DSPA-5 Contains Both Fires and Resulting Damage in Garden State, USA.

July 30, 2009

When a vintage car caught fire in the spacious garage of a mansion in Upper Saddle, New Jersey, the resulting damage could have mounted into the millions of dollars. It didn’t, thanks to the quick deployment of two DSPA-5devices by an assistant fire chief.

Once deployed, the DSPA-5 units held the fire at bay while crews stretched their lines and planned their strategy. On entering the garage, the crews quickly knocked down the flames and were surprised to note that damage was confined almost entirely to the garage.

Further north, in Sechelt, BC, a fire in the storage room of a house posed a similar threat to the one described above. This time a single DPSA-5 was deployed. It kept the fire in check for eleven minutes until water arrived on the scene, preserving the family’s home. The Sechelt Fire Department has now preserved four properties by deployed DSPA-5 units.
