Introduction
Do you want to help develop innovative, environmentally friendly fire protection technology that protects lives and property around the world? At DSPA, you'll work on unique aerosol and nitrogen fire suppression systems that use no water, contain no PFAS, and don't contribute to climate change or ozone depletion. As Certification Engineer, you'll be responsible for the international certification of our systems and play a key role in our continued growth.

About the role
You'll manage national and international certification processes for our aerosol and nitrogen fire suppression systems. You'll make sure our products meet the strictest standards for fire safety, sustainability and health. You'll work closely with inspection bodies, testing laboratories and internal teams such as R&D and Quality Assurance.

You'll prepare for inspections and audits and attend fire tests in the Netherlands and abroad. You'll also prepare test and reporting documentation in line with international standards and assessment guidelines (such as EN, ISO, BRL K21045, UL, VdS and NFPA). Beyond that, you'll contribute ideas for product improvements and monitor the compliance of existing and new products.

You'll work partly at our site in the Netherlands and partly on location at international testing institutes and test facilities.

What we're looking for

• A completed technical bachelor's degree (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or similar)
• At least 2 years of experience in the fire safety industry, preferably with active suppression systems
• Knowledge of or experience with product certification, CE marking or conformity assessments
• Familiarity with assessment guidelines (such as BRL K21045) and relevant standards
• Willingness to travel internationally
• Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English
• Experience with aerosol, gas, foam or water mist suppression systems is a plus
• Relevant certifications, or willingness to obtain them, is a plus
